Real Madrid and Spain footballer Sergio Ramos has been appointed as Spanish ambassador to the UNICEF Committee.

Ramos, who's been a supporter of UNICEF since 2007 and has visited Senegal and played in charity matches for the organisation, commented 'It's an honour for me to join the UNICEF Committee and support their campaigns for the promotion of sports and the protection of children', adding 'I just had a son and I can't imagine the pain of being unable to protect him'.
